A downloadable game
LEAD+GOLD is a wild west hack of John Harper's hugely influential World of Dungeons, and a redesign of the first game I ever made publicly available back in 2014, World of Dusters. Since then, I have received more than a few e-mails, direct messages, and tweets saying someone had found it hidden away on a forum or rpg list somewhere. I'm finally making it more easily available here on this page.
This PDF is a light revision of World of Dusters with changes to some terminology for aesthetic purposes, the addition of art, examples of additional classes, some altered text, and an all-new character sheet. Otherwise, the text is a window to another time, preserved exactly as I put it together years ago.
I consider it a living project as I hope to continue to tinker with it, and move it further and further afield from the World of Dungeons roots that first birthed it years ago and more into narrative territory.
Changes I hope to implement eventually include...
- A settlement growth system tied directly into character improvement
- A streamlined wealth system
- Support for GMs bringing the hardships of the frontier to life
